Part-Time Position Currently Available

Play Hard Hoops will be entering its 13th year of coaching youth basketball, and is one of the largest youth development basketball programs in the Chicagoland community for K-8th grade boys and girls. Our program continues to get bigger each year, and we currently serve over 1000 families in the Chicagoland community. PHH staff's primary focus is sharing our love for the game while teaching fundamentals, positive attitudes, and teamwork.

We are looking for enthusiastic, hard working coaches that want to join us in building high level experiences where our players improve their skills, have fun, and build passion for basketball through skill development and competition. Positions are available at multiple PHH locations, including Chicago, Lincolnshire, Libertyville, Long Grove-Buffalo Grove, Lake Barrington, Volo, Evanston and Vernon Hills. Weekly hours are part-time to start, generally after 4 pm on weekdays. For weekends, the times vary on Saturday and Sunday  (AM and PM sessions) during our Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons. Summer camp coaching opportunites will be offered as well.

PHH is also looking for good Travel Basketball Coaches for the PHH Warriors Travel Program that exists in both the city and suburbs. The 2020-21 season saw PHH City host 10 teams from 3rd - 8th grade and PHH Suburbs host teams in Stevenson, Vernon Hills and Lake Zurich Districts.

Expected pay will be per hour based on the Play Hard program type, location (suburbs or city), and prior coaching experience. Many of our coaches have been with us for over 5 years and a handful for a decade/since the start of Play Hard. We are proud of this continuity for our players+parents and think it speaks to the high quality and character of our staff and leadership.

Our new coaching hires will assist lead instructors in running various basketball sessions - weekly skills classes, leading recreational teams in leagues, travel basketball, clinics, camps, and more - for Play Hard.

This is a terrific opportunity to learn from a former college and professional coach while building a foundation in teaching today's youth. Our coaches get hands-on experience and will learn the keys of Play Hard's focus through shadow training. Thank you for your consideration and it is a pleasure to have the opportunity of meeting coaches in the Chicago area.

Interested coaches can reach out to Coach "A" at to learn more about the opportunities with our program. Please include the job location you are interested in as part of the email subject.
